Entertainment in Nanjing

There are quite a number of sources of entertainment in and around Nanjing. So while on his/her visit to Nanjing, a tourist can never get bored thanks to the various sources of entertainment that are on offer for the tourists which would spoil them in wanting for more. The nightlife is quite a happening feature in the whole of China and Nanjing is no exception in this regard. The Chinese Kun ju opera is usually performed at the Jiangnan Theatre while the more traditional Beijing Opera is performed at the People's Theatre. The performance generally starts from 7.30 pm. 1912 is a district of bars, cafes, clubs, and restaurants that was set up in the year of 2005.


The most popular bar in Nanjing would be Danny's Irish Pub which is located on the fourth floor of the Sheraton Hotel. Time Tunnel at Taiping Nan Lu 354 has the largest dance floor in the whole of Nanjing. In order to entice the localites of Nanjing, the wild Scarlet (Luanshi Jiaren) at Gu Lou Chezhan Dongxiang 29 has been known to give discount to the foreigners who visit Nanjing.The largest art gallery in Nanjing is Jinying Yishu Zhongxin Hualang (Golden Eagle Art Center),
and is located at Hanzhong Lu 89, 11th floor.This gallery has a large collection of traditional Chinese ink paintings, modern oil paintings, and calligraphy. Cloud dragon brocade is sold by Nanjing Yunjun Yahjiusuo (Brocade Research Institute) at Chating Dong Lu 240. It is open from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm.

These cloud dragon brocade was once reserved exclusively for use by the emperors. Handicrafts from all over China including jade, silk embroidery, fans, lacquer ware, pottery, and jewellery can be found at the Nanjing Gongyi Meishu dalou Gouwu Zhongxin at Beijing Dong Lu 31. All kinds of local products are available in the shops at Fuzi Miao. There is also a trendy night market on Hunan Lu between Zhongshan Bei Lu and Zhongshan Bei Lu and Zhongyang Lu.
