Climatic Conditions in Istanbul

The prevailing climatic conditions in Istanbul are subtropical. The denizens of Istanbul experience all of the four seasonal cycles. The distinguishing climatic features are more or less similar to that of the Mediterranean, only being a little cooler. The spring in Istanbul is short and sweet. The average temperature in Istanbul throughout the year remains 13.7ºC. February is the coldest month with a temperature of about 5ºC. After the cold and rainy month of March, spring arrives in Istanbul in the month of April and it until the end of May. In spring you can watch brightly colored flowers like tulips, blooming everywhere. The Judas- tree plantations in Bosphorus are adorned with the purple color in spring. The climatic conditions in June are a mixture of spring and summer. July and August are the warmest with an average temperature of about 22-23ºC.
