Transport Facilities in China

There are various means of transportation available for the tourists in China. A convenient means of transportation would be taxi which ply in different cities of China with the fares ranging from 1 to 2 Yuan per kilometer. Generally a receipt is given by the driver at the end of a taxi ride. For the ones who are traveling downtown, subways becomes a convenient mode of transportation. Subways are available in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Tianjin. Some of the hotels in Beijing offer bicycles for rent to the tourists. The railway service of China offers both domestic as well as international operations with Beijing as the hub.


The domestic rail service falls under different heads such as quasi-high speed trains, fast trains, tourist trains, expresses, and passenger trains. There are a number of Air Companies in China which offers air services to the tourists in China. One year is the validity period of a normal air ticket in China. For special fare tickets and discount normal fare tickets, the validity is calculated on the basis of related fares. Passengers departing from any international airports in the People's Republic of China have to pay a 90 Yuan airport fee.
Those who stop over for less than 24 hours and children under the age of 12 are exempt from this airport fee. There is a free luggage allowance for a passenger is 40 kg for a first class ticket, 30 kg for a business class ticket, and 20 kg for an economy class ticket. The Civil Aviation Administration of China is in charge of the nation's civil aviation industry. China also has a well connected waterway encompassing the Bohai, Yellow and East China seas in the East and the South China Sea in the South.China's coastline is clustered with harbors like Tianjin, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Yantai, Qingdao, Qinhuangdao, Dalian, Beihai, and Hong Kong. All of these harbors operate global cruises.
