China offers a wide range of interesting places for its tourists to choose from. Given below is a list of some of the interesting places worth visiting in China

The National Museum of China: This is located at Beijing at 16, East Chang'an Street. The museum has 150 volunteer guides. Also available for the visitors is acoustic guide equipment. It has facilities such as free service of wheelchairs, cradle and first aid. The Museum is opened from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm 7 days a week during normal hours. During peak season hours it is opened from 8 am to 6 pm 7 days a week. The Museum remains closed on the eve of Chinese New Year.



The Palace Museum: This is located in Beijing and stands on the foundation of the palace that was the ritual center of the Ming and the Qing dynasty. It is designated by the State Council in 1961 as one of China's foremost protected monuments. It was made a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1987.

Shanghai Museum: This museum was established in December 1952 at West Nanjing Road. In 1959 it moved to 16 Henan South Road. Over 50 researchers and associate researchers work here on Chinese bronze, ceramics, paintings and calligraphy, and artifacts. There is also a scientific laboratory for the preservation of cultural relics.

Tianjin Folklore Museum: This is a regional folklore museum located in Ancient Culture Street. It was built in 1985 and opened to the visitors on the New Year's Day in 1986. It includes a gate, torii, bell tower, drum tower, front hall, main hall, depository of Buddhist scriptures, the Qisheng Temple. The museum houses over 2,000 pieces of folk relics. The museum generally holds traditional theatre performances during important festivals. The other interesting places to visit would include The Great Wall, Temple of Heaven, Museum of Terra Cotta Warriors, Confucius Temple, Ming Tombs, Huanglong Scenic Area, Taishan Mountain, Wuyi Mountain, The Ancient City of Pingyao, The Dazu Grottoes, The Site of Peking Man, The Classical Gardens of Suzhou, Forbidden City, Summer Palace, Potala Palace, and Yungan Grottoes
