Shanghai Museum: This museum was established in December 1952 at West Nanjing Road. In 1959 it moved to 16 Henan South Road. Over 50 researchers and associate researchers work here on Chinese bronze, ceramics, paintings and calligraphy, and artifacts. There is also a scientific laboratory for the preservation of cultural relics.
Tianjin Folklore Museum: This is a regional folklore museum located in Ancient Culture Street. It was built in 1985 and opened to the visitors on the New Year's Day in 1986. It includes a gate, torii, bell tower, drum tower, front hall, main hall, depository of Buddhist scriptures, the Qisheng Temple. The museum houses over 2,000 pieces of folk relics. The museum generally holds traditional theatre performances during important festivals.
