Transport Facilities in Agra

Staying at Agra and facing commuting problems does not go hand in hand at all. The state transport corporation of Agra is called the Uttar Pradesh State Tourist Development Corporation (UPSTDC). The State Transport Corporation maintains deluxe and local bus coaches. The buses owned by the State Transport Corporation run from Agra to various places such as Delhi, Lucknow, Gwalior, Jhansi and also other places across India.


Besides the State owned transport corporation, there are also a number of other organizations which provide transport facilities to the tourists of Agra. The central bus stand in the city of Agra is called Idgah Bus Station and it is quite popular in the entire region. This bus stand is the primary means of entry and exit from the city of Agra. There are a number of deluxe and express buses which regularly check in and check out from this bus terminal.
This bus stand also serves as the reference point in the vicinity of Agra. Another regional bus stand is located opposite to the Agra Power House and this bus stand provides transport facilities to the tourists as well. There is also a local bus stand located near the Taj Mahal which provides which provides access to nearby townships. The city of Agra is also well connected by means of rail and airways. The railway station provides tourists with luxury, super fast trains like the Shatabdi Express and the Jhansi Taj Express.
