Car rentals in Olympia


In order to make traveling around the country easier, comfortable and hassle free, a number of car rental companies have started operating in Greece. The tourists who want to embark on a tour across the country can always avail of the facilities provided to them by these car rental companies. There are some basic road rules which are to be followed by every car rental company operating throughout Greece.


The minimum age of the drivers have been set at 18.Seat belts are a must for the front seat passengers and kids fewer than 10 cannot sit in the front seat. The speed limit in urban areas is 30 mph, in outside the city areas it is 68 mph and in freeways/expressways it is 75 mph. Except in case of emergency, blowing of horns is illegal in towns and urban areas.
Within 9 feet of a fire hydrant, 15 feet of an intersection, or 45 feet from a bus stop parking is strictly not allowed. Purchase of a ticket from a booth might give one the permission to park in some areas. The central Athens area restricts car access in order to reduce congestion. In case of any emergency, visitors can dial 112 for multi language help, 100 for police, 166 for the fire brigade service, and 199 for ambulance service. Tolls, which vary and which must be paid in cash, are required on some special roads which are also known by the name of Ethniki Odos.
